Susan Barcia is a self-taught mixed media artist whose work begins with the sea — the shifting light of the coastline, the turquoise of shallow water, and the villages and harbors of Italy she loves. Coastal landscapes, vibrant florals, classical still lifes, and expressive abstracts run through her collection, each built from layered color and texture.
Whether she is capturing the motion of a wave, the calm of a shoreline, or the charm of a sunlit village, Susan paints to create a feeling of peace, beauty, and connection. Entirely self-taught, she has developed her voice through years of exploration, observation, and a lifelong pull toward making things by hand.
Her artwork has been exhibited at Rare Earth Gallery in Florida and featured in selected exhibitions and venues. Her original paintings continue to find homes with collectors, bringing calm, color, and a sense of place into the rooms they inhabit.
"I paint to hold on to the feeling of the coast — the light, the water, the calm."
